A unique mooching reel

Our GL 1 moocher is truly unique in that it has a 2:1 winding action for fast retrieval rates. The 2:1 wind is an amazing innovation in a mooching reel. For the first time a mooching reel has a retrieval rate on par with level wind reels. The 2:1 winding ratio has the additional benefit of having the handles spin at half speed when a fish runs…..much easier on the knuckles.

Another advancement is the drag lever on the back plate away from the handles. The lever rocks between zero and 120 degrees with detents for positional feel. Just rock the lever back for free-spool and rock it forward to set the drag which is fast and repeatable with the detents. The drag system is comprised of a multi-plate carbon and stainless steel disc stack which gives a silky smooth braking effort and no creep. Bearings are stainless steel throughout. Easily reversible left hand/right hand wind. Spool is just under 5”, lots of capacity. Price is $925 CAD plus hst. Reel comes with a nice neoprene bag.
